More time to travel...

If you are like me, then you love driving the open roads of America discovering all that our country has. The reason I am starting this blog is to help others easily find great places to spend a day trip exploring. I want to give everyone a review of all the amazing places that I have been on my travels. I am from North Carolina so I am starting in my home state then moving on to other states that surround me.

Last I discussed Chimney Rock NC, so lets travel east to the Outer Banks. Kitty Hawk, and Nags Head North Carolina are so close to each other they touch borders. You will not find any towering hotels and dinner shows here.  This area of ocean is lined with beautiful multi-story homes and cottages. There are still a few small ocean front hotels left here if that is what you like. The best experiences here are had with a home that sleeps 15 people for all the family to stay. All of the homes are fully equipped so you can enjoy a home cooked breakfast in the morning and a steak on the grill for dinner. The views from the decks are incredible. Make sure to get a house that has a deck on top for the best views of the entire coastline.

Local attractions are the ever changing sand dunes. If you have never had the pleasure of seeing it, well lets just imagine a 400+ acre sandbox for adults and kids. If you need the get the adrenaline pumping then there is nothing like jumping off the top of one of the 90 foot dunes at Jockeys Ridge with a huge kite on your back. That's right hang gliding! There is always a breeze blowing in the outer banks so kite flying is made easy here.

Speaking of breezes you can also see where the first controlled power flight took place. If you wanted to know why all of the North Carolina license plates say First in Flight on them then you should check out the Wright Brothers National Memorial. You can walk the same grounds as Orville and Wilbur Wright and see the distance each flight went with the markers on the ground.

If you want more adventure then you should try your hand at scuba diving in the graveyard of the Atlantic. Thousands of old shipwrecks lay at the bottom of the ocean just a short distance from the beaches.

There is just so much to see and do you cant get it all in just one day but I have tried to give you some of the highlights. Its your turn to experience the magic of North Carolina's Outer Banks.
