With all the running around in families today we each need to take time to relax and enjoy life. I find our family sits around wasting time with last minute planning of what can we do today together. We love to take day trips to wonderful places and show our kids what our country has to offer. Some people are beach lovers and others love the mountains. North Carolina offers the best of both worlds.
First off is one of my favorites, Chimney Rock State Park http://www.chimneyrockpark.com/. The park is full of breath taking views. Lake Lure is just minutes away and can be seen in all its luster from the peak of Chimney Rock. They offer hiking trails, bird watching, rock climbing and even a cool mist from Hickory Nut Falls.
My family and I spent a fun and amazing day together checking out Chimney Rock State Park. This is what a road trip is all about.
